Taylor Biomass Energy, LLC – Materials Recovery and Waste-to-Energy Design and Permitting Services for Biomass Energy Facility

Innovative gasification and green energy facility proposed

Taylor Biomass EnergyCornerstone Environmental Group is providing permitting, engineering, and design services for Taylor Biomass Energy’s biomass processing, gasification, and clean energy production facility, in the Town of Montgomery, New York. The permit to construct and operate the proposed facility was issued in December 2010, and detailed design activities are currently underway.

Under the approved permit, Taylor’s current 400 ton per day (tpd) construction and demolition (C&D) debris separation and recovery facility will be updated to utilize the entire 95-acre parcel as a sustainable, environmentally sound, waste-to-energy facility through the implementation of proprietary biomass generation and gasification processes.

The biomass energy facility will include an expanded C&D processing structure with refined sorting and recovery operations, a 120,000 square foot post-collection separation structure, biomass storage, gasifier, and power generation pad, three-story scale house/office building, maintenance structure, recycling handling structure, and three-story office building.

Key Project Activities

  • Conceptual design and permitting
  • Design of expansion to existing C&D processing operations
  • Operational process improvements to C&D processing structure
  • Design of new post collection separation structure, biomass storage, gasifier, and power generation pad
  • Procurement of equipment
  • Design of proposed buildings
  • Improvements to site utilities and access
  • Final design documents preparation
