Ensuring optimum performance for use in renewable energy facility

Prev Prev

Cornerstone Environmental Group provides landfill gas (LFG) collection and control system operations and monitoring services at the Middlesex County Utility Authority (MCUA) Landfill and the ILR Landfill to ensure optimum performance of the systems. The gas collected from the landfills is pulled through the main compressor/dryer station and delivered via pipeline and booster station to the LFG energy recovery facility PurEnergy operates, approximately 6 miles away. The pipeline not only interconnects multiple landfill units, but incorporates a river crossing of approximately .7 miles. Cornerstone also conducts quarterly Title V surface gas emissions monitoring at the Middlesex County Landfill.

Cornerstone is involved in the project on a full-time basis, with a team of senior level technicians and junior field technicians. Performing both routine and non-routine work activities, staff are responsible for responding to emergency call-outs on a 24/7 schedule. Cornerstone also conducts small gas collection and control system improvement construction and oversees LFG improvement projects conducted by outside contractors.
